Wiza Ng’ambi, PhD

Wiza Ng’ambi is an economist with over ten years of professional work experience at global, regional, and national levels with additional experience in academia as a lecturer and researcher. He served as a Trade Finance Specialist in the Economic Research and Statistics Division at the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland in 2024. Prior to this, he served as a Trade Finance Consultant at the World Bank Group in Washington, DC, United States of America, and before that served in the Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation at the World Trade Organization in Geneva. Prior to joining international development organisations, he spent over eight years in Southern Africa and Zambia, serving in numerous senior management and analyst roles in such institutions as Zambia Statistics Agency, Innovations for Poverty Action, Industrial Development Corporation, Lusaka Provincial Health Office/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food Reserve Agency and Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission,  along with lecturing at higher education institutions such as the University of Zambia.
Wiza holds a Doctor of Philosophy at the nexus of development economics, manufacturing development and finance. He further holds a Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Statistics, along with numerous short course certificates. He has proficiency in both English, French and Spanish, and three Zambian languages namely, Bemba, Nyanja and Tonga.
